Burmese blackwood [dalbergia cultrata] is a true rosewood. and like most rosewoods it’s hard, dense, and can be a challenge to work with. But they always make for beautiful, finished pieces.
Like my other eater in Burmese blackwood this one has a bit of sapwood which contrast nicely with the darker heartwood. But this spoon has a much deeper bowl and is larger overall. More of a soup/eating spoon.
Measures 7-3/4 inches long.
signature inlay in sterling silver.
