A fine little scoop hand carved in bloodwood. I wanted to keep the design of this scoop simple but elegant. The piece of wood I used to carve this scoop came from the collection of another fine spoon maker. and it has a bunch of light sapwood. which is rarely seen on bloodwood. so, I wanted to include as much of it as possible.
Bloodwood is a tropical South American hardwood and this was my first time working with it. it is hard, incredibly dense, and a challenge to work with. but like most exotic hardwoods it has a really nice weight and finish.
measures 6-1/2 inches long and holds about 1tbsp
