Pear or Swiss pear is a popular hardwood in Europe and is planted in temperate regions throughout the world. but it is not common to find it here in the U.S. I can’t remember where I acquired the chunk to make this scoop. but I have been holding on to it for close to a decade. And I haven’t come across any more pear in that time.
