This spoon was the result of me doodling while trying to come up with a theme for a cooking spoon set, I want to carve. A bunch of doodles later and I had this design. It has a bit of an elvish feel to it. So, my ADHD kicked in, I abandoned the cooking spoon set idea and found something nice to carve it in.
I think with the shape it would have looked good in any wood. but this piece had some light sapwood I wanted to incorporate into the handle. I don’t know exactly what type of wood it is. definitely an exotic hardwood of some sort. My best educated guess would be something in the Dalbergia {rosewood} genus. Either way it is a beautiful piece of wood and a fine spoon.
Measures 12 inches long. Right hand use.
Copper signature inlay.
